A fine start, but a bit short. Those "Note:" sections that form the bottom portion of the article need to be converted into regular paragraphs or sections within the article's overall content. LordAmeth 14:30, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

May I suggest that someone with the knowledge of the colored map sections depicted explain better in words about the 900 years South extension progress entioned and that this whole thing need revising to show cross references to the pages for Annam, Tonkin, Chchin China which all belong in a Vietnam page, as Tonkin really referres to the Northern third I believe.

Furthermore the Border of Tonkin here depicted is that border is only recently agreed between China and Vietnam Sovereign States. For a long time several Chinese States were disputed in Vietnam and vice versa several Vietnam States were claimed by China. I do think in this case it is best to avoid trying to cover all that in this article anyhow.

We might also mention that when Vietnam was theoretically China, long before Lac Long Quan legend established the Kingdom we refer to as Vietnam today, the word nam of the country Viet Nam was a regional southern part of china and the provincial/regional people called Viets a race/tribe of Chinese people, whilst "Nam" translates as "Southern" indicated their nomadic domocile South of the Yangsee or Yellow River.--Robbygay (talk) 05:32, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
