"New M4"[edit]

Pardon my ignorance, but M48 is in use, and as I understand it the new stretch around Newport and the first Severn crossing will not be directly connected. Can we do better than someone's personal site? 81.104.175.145 07:53, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mumbles Tram[edit]

I've reverted the weasel words inserted by WelshLeprechaun. There are no real doubts about the Mumbles Railway being the first passenger railway, despite some cardiff people being incapable of accepting it. The records of the time are pretty clear on the subject.

1801 - Surrey - first permission for public railway 1802 - Llanelli - first public railway (surrey still bogged down in construction work) 1804 - Mumbles tramway authorised 1806 - Agreements signed for horse passenger service on the railway by Benjamin French 1807 - First actual service.

Given the page is flagged for lack of references I'll stick some actual references in tomorrow but you can also find good ones on the mumbles railway page anyway

Air Travel[edit]

To the editor(s) suggesting that Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool Airports are in Wales, if you continue these edits, you will immediately be reported to administrators leading to a ban on editing. That is a very literal interpretation, and also represents isolationist anti-English POV. NO. They are not in Wales - therefore do not belong on this page. Please read the opening paragraph. They belong on the Transport in the UK page which is referenced in opening paragraph. First Cymru clarification[edit]

Why exactly does this [2] need clarification? Of course it doesn't cover the entire region, what bus company does? There's no bus stop on my street - my street isn't served my bus. It's giving undue weight to areas mentioned. Welshleprechaun (talk) 00:06, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I really can't see your problem with that line; the source is a page linking to maps of First Cymru's routes in three areas - Swansea, NPT and Bridgend [3]. First doesn't seem to cover Carmarthen, Pembroke etc and we don't want to give the misleading impression that it does. I notice that you haven't challenged the similar line on Stagecoach as giving undue weight to Cardiff and the Valleys (if you were being consistent you'd say that they operate in "South East Wales").
