Article history[edit]

I'm questioning about the history of this article before the tropical cyclone development of Lee? --Mfs1013 (talk) 20:55, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What exactly are you questioning? I'd be willing to try and answer ★ Auree talk 20:59, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What was up with the cyclonic information of Lee, dating back to May of this year... Just look at the article history. --Mfs1013 (talk) 00:11, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
oh, it was moved from my sandbox, which I had edited before. Is this a problem? ★ Auree talk 00:25, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect from "Tropical Storm Lee"?[edit]

Most notable "Lee" in Atlantic Basin. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lood1234 (talkcontribs) 16:42, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, this Lee is the most notable "Lee" in the Atlantic basin.--12george1 (talk) 16:59, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done - moved Tropical Storm Lee to Tropical Storm Lee (disambiguation) and redirected Tropical Storm Lee to Tropical Storm Lee (2011). --Anirudh Emani (talk) 09:55, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Remnents[edit]

Should the heavy rainfall, flash floods, and (so far minor) tornadoes resulting from the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee advancing northward be mentioned? DavidSSabb (talk) 03:28, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Of course. YE Pacific Hurricane
They should since some northern states got some impressive accumulations (http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIAHPCAT3+shtml/071452.shtml):

Once there are no more updates, I'll go through and use the last update from HPC to talk about where it finally fully dissipated. Inks.LWC (talk) 22:23, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

While the media often mentions it as fully Lee, there is no surface circulation at all right now, and hasn't been for a couple days. If the TCR finds them to be unrelated and due to the front and not Lee, that part of article may need to be split to September 2011 Northeastern United States floods. But for now, best to leave it here. CrazyC83 (talk) 13:38, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's a messy thing to pick apart. It'll be impossible to tell how much of the flooding was caused by Lee, how much by the front and how much by Katia. The main factor, however, appears to be Lee which brought tremendous moisture from the Gulf of Mexico into the Northeast. On a smaller-scale, the flooding in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York before the system moved out was the combination of all three systems. Inconsistent Canadian information[edit]

The lead section says "After becoming extratropical, Lee caused historic flooding in ... Canada, mainly Quebec and Ontario." And that's the only mention of anything Canadian in the entire article. Assuming the sentence is true, it would be great if someone would research and add a section with details for Canada. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 21:11, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Tropical Storm Lee (2011)Tropical Storm Lee – Cleary more notable than other Lees. Heavy damage throughout USA, considerably heavy death count. I think it is more notable than this Lee Insendieum ALT (talk) 19:56, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. I don't really see a WP:PTOPIC among storms that could be referred to this way; keeping the main title as a dab seems reasonable.— Red-tailed hawk (nest) 15:04, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Typhoon Lee (1981) had 188 fatalities, considerably more than the 2011 one, so unless a typhoon is not considered a tropical storm at all, that's at least an equal contender.  — Amakuru (talk) 21:08, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
