Crowned in Tarnovo?[edit]

Rostislav Mikhailovich was not crowned in Tarnovo as he never took the city. Jotaro97 (talk) 16:33, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The Tsardom of Vidin was never a vassal of Serbia[edit]

The Tsardom of Vidin was never a vassal of Serbia. There is not a single source to support these claims. The article is subject to constant vandalism. I'm starting a discussion here to avoid an edit war. I appeal to the editors who restored the passages about imaginary vassalage to Serbia in the article and urge them to provide credible, reliable and independent sources for these unsubstantiated claims. If necessary, I will seek arbitration of this dispute.Bononia1 (talk) 02:01, 23 March 2024 (UTC) @Jingiby I'm also addressing you because you reverted my last edit. If you cannot point to reliable and credible sources for the claim that the Tsardom of Vidin was a vassal of Serbia, then these passages from the article should be deleted. They are not supported by any sources, by any data. Nowhere in the historical sources is there any evidence of vassalage of the Tsardom of Vidin to Serbia. On the contrary, there are indisputable data in the historical sources which indicate that in the period under consideration the diplomatic relations between Serbia and the Tsardom of Vidin were at least relations between equal states (if not Vidin above). Moreover, the status of the Tsardom of Vidin and the Tsar of Vidin is higher than the status of the Kingdom of Serbia and the King of Serbia. The title "tsar" is an imperial title (the word "tsar" is simply a separate transcription of the word "caesar", which means emperor), and the emperor is above the king in rulership status. In the hierarchy of rulers, the emperor is at the top. The ruler of Vidin is an emperor. An Emperor cannot be a vassal of a king. A king can be a vassal of an emperor. If there was vassalage between Serbia and the Tsardom of Vidin, then Serbia was a vassal of Vidin, not the other way around. Historical sources provide information that in the period under consideration, Serbia was easily and quickly broken by the invasion of the Golden Horde. At the same time, the Tsar of Vidin had good relations with this same Golden Horde. The Tsar of Vidin was a vassal of the ruler of the Golden Horde in this period. He was not a vassal of the king of Serbia. It is stated in the historical sources that when Serbia entered Vidin with an army, then the ruler of the Golden Horde intervened in favor of the Tsar of Vidin and expelled the Serbs. In addition, Tsar Shishman I and the king of Serbia arranged a dynastic marriage between Michael III (son of Tsar Shishman I) and the daughter of the Serbian king.Bononia1 (talk) 03:20, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Bononia1. To change the stable version of an article you need to provide your sources here and gain a consensus, not the opposite. For now nothing has been provided. You changed a lot of data in the article without providing any sources for those changes. What's more, you deleted even credible sources of information. It is possible that some of the information in the article is not correct in your opinion, but that does not mean that it really is. I suggest you point out what you disagree with point by point and discuss it on the talk page. Keep in mind that some of the information you submit is not completely reliable or is supported only by few researchers. To begin with, I agree that there is no evidence of a vassal position vis-a-vis Serbia. I could not find such sources and suggest that this information be removed.
