What happened to Tyrone?[edit]

That's what I asked when I edited his article earlier today. I don't have a clue. I thought it was worthwhile to include each of the quotes, one from Ken Dryden (not the hockey player, by the way), and the other from Squidoo, a site with which Wikipedia seems to have some kind of issue. Perhaps you can see the article by cutting and pasting the following into your browser's address field:

I hope somebody can help resolve this mystery. If you know, or knew, Tyrone, please provide some documention of his whereabouts or of whatever he has been doing for the past few decades! DutchmanInDisguise (talk) 23:06, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I do not know Tyrone Washington personally; however, this obituary of Eunice Washington from 2022 says that she is survived by three children, one of them "Jazz Musician and Sunni Muslim Minister, Mohammad Bilal Abdullah (Tyrone Washington)."
If this is a reliable source, that would indicate that Washington changed his name to Mohammad Bilal Abduallah, and also that he is alive as of August 2022.
I'm pretty sure that I've read somewhere that Washington had left music for the Muslim ministry in Newark in the early 70s, but of course my hazy memory isn't a reliable source. (It looks like maybe this traces back to an Amazon review his brother left of one of his albums? Not a reliable source though.) Mwphil (talk) 22:25, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is a comment that I'm not expecting to post, but I need to get the link to the review spamblocked again so I can go see where to request a whitelist. Mwphil (talk) 22:30, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
...or not. Mwphil (talk) 22:30, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Posting again with further confirmation that the Tyrone Washington in the obituary is the same musician; here is an excerpt from a book by Barbara Washington Franklin, also listed as a survivor in the obituary, confirming that her brother is the Tyrone Washington who played with Horace Silver etc. Mwphil (talk) 22:49, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
