Considering your link no.2 is showing a 404 not found error, I would suggest you'd be better to look for an alternative proof, no offence intended.188.141.59.230 (talk) 19:01, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Link needed to the anthem
The old link got deleted it seems

[edit] Picture of girls with trophy
I see no need for this picture. The trophy in the photo is out of focus and is only a small part of the photo - the girls appear to have have made themselves more the subject of the photo but that is not what this wiki page is about, posting on FLickr etc is more suitable.
The picture of the trophy at the top of the page is of MUCH better quality therefore the page itself has lost nothing of value by the change.
the above is an anonymous edit
You may be right, but having regard to the trouble we went to in order to access the FC Barca trophy room, then ... Izzy (talk) 16:08, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
Izzy, with respect, the page is not about the security of the Barcelona trophy room. As you state, the trophy is merely a replica, copies of which are also on display at Old Trafford, Anfield, Parkhead, the Bernabéu etc etc (see links 1-3 below). I feel the inclusion of the picture is more about satisfying your ego rather than the quality/relevance of the page - I say that without meaning any personal offence whatsoever. Posting on flickr with the appropriate tags will get you a LOT of views I'm sure.
I take your point. By the way, I inserted the image in good faith assuming that the trophy we were holding was the actual Champions Cup. That is what we were told at the time. I have only now been informed that we were holding a replica. Izzy (talk) 09:58, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
Thankyou. I'm sure your knowledge of art and history means you can make valuable contributions elsewhere.
[edit] Spain and UEFA Chanpions League sponsors
Should Spain be added to list of countries with sponsorship restrictions? At the Santiago Bernabéu today I saw all of the Heineken adboards were replaced with "Star Experience" and Sevilla for some reason are forced to strip their sponsors 188bet.com from their shirts and replace them with UEFA Respect logos during UEFA Chanpions League matches.

[edit] Single team federation victory
The article is not clear on what happens in qualification if a team from a league with only one place in the Champions League wins the title but not its league. Would they just displace the league winners? Lenzar (talk) 19:29, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
[edit] I need an answer for this
In the Copa Libertadores section, we are discussing how would we rate the "prestigue" of winning the old Intercontinental Cup/Club World Cup. Some clubs in South America care deeply for the tournament (Boca Juniors, Internacional, Flamengo, etc); others simply could give a squat about it (Estudiantes, Sao Paulo, River Plate, etc).
I would like to get opinions from Europeans as to how they view this competition. Jamen Somasu (talk) 18:59, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
- In England, I don't think anyone really cares. The Club World Cup is just another couple of matches in an already crowded fixture schedule. And it takes two seasons to qualify for. It's treated as a bit of a novelty, tbh. – PeeJay 19:15, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

[edit] List of European Cup and UEFA Champions League winners
I have proposed, with strong reason, to merge the list into this article. Although I used the "merging" template, it is more than obvious that the merge has already been complete and we currently have two articles that carries the same, exact information. Jamen Somasu (talk) 02:02, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Given my previous interactions with this editor, I was unsure whether there would be a lot in this. But he's right. The tables here are an exact duplication of the list, and the prose there is merely a condensed version of the prose here. WFC (talk) 12:39, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- The template {{UEFA Champions League winners by club}} was added to this article only a couple of months ago by an occasional editor. I'm not sure exactly what it was supposed to transclude, but at the moment, since it was redirected to a section of the winners' list, it seems to bring in the whole of that list. Which is why the contents are exactly the same. I've left a note with Rambo's Revenge, who changed that template to a redirect, but I don't suppose he's had a chance to look at it yet. Perhaps it would be best to wait until the peculiar transclusion is fixed and see what's in this article then. And if it's still the same content as the list, take this article back to its pre-May 2010 state by removing the template or its contents. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 13:03, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Agree with Struway2, a little bit of research goes a long way. I suggest the transclusion is removed and we leave the list as it stands, with any obvious issues with current FL criteria fixed. The Rambling Man (talk) 13:06, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Seeing as there was no objections, I took the transclusion out of the parent article, making the list viable to keep. Jamen Somasu (talk) 14:40, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

My sincere apologies. I was too hasty and did not check thoroughly enough. I've rectified other occurances of my mistake. Now everything is as was, except the information is directly in the article not transcluding from templates. It is now how it was before any changes were made. However, I'm not sure the "May 2010 edit" (discussed above) was beneficial (a possible CFORK?) and perhaps that information (which is now directly in this article following substitution) should be removed altogether. Best, Rambo's Revenge (talk) 15:02, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Edit request from Yoiyitsu, 4 November 2010
{{edit semi-protected}} Can somebody update the "Map of UEFA Champions League Winners By Country" link to http://www.targetmap.com/viewer.aspx?reportId=2939 ? The actual link won't be updated anymore. As you can see, the owner of the actual map is me (Created By: yoiyitsu).
Thank you so much Yoiyitsu (talk) 14:22, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
[edit] First European Cup/Champions League final with a foreign starting eleven
- (cross posted from the 2011 final article talk page, to which it refers)
This info was completely removed for being 'unsourced' [1]. The fact there were no Italians in Inter's starting lineup was obviously simply true, and I'm pretty sure this being a 'first' in the history of the competition is also pretty indisputable. A citation needed tag would have sufficed for both of these facts. This was found in a few minutes to support the obvious fact, and while I can't find a more reliable source than this in the few minutes I have available now, I'd be amazed if one doesn't exist. If someone with more time finds a better source, it really should be restored. MickMacNee (talk) 20:36, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Maybole FC is not the most successful champions league club
In the list of teams who have won the champions league, Maybole FC is at the top with 9 wins, this should be Real Madrid, of course.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.208.102.198 (talk) 09:24, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Match days
The fact that it is palyed on mid week but now on staurday is more important then the rubbish about sponsors. So it should be in there —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.55.196.242 (talk) 13:33, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
[edit] UEFA Champions League winners 2011
According to this page the trophy has already been awarded to Barcelona at the expense of Manchester United, 3 weeks before the final kicks off. Amusing but inaccurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.188.171.66 (talk) 09:12, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
[edit] UEFA Champions Leagu revamp
See the Copa Libertadores page. I pretty much made it into a GA single-handedly. I am now planning on transforming the UEFA Champions League page the same way. I only have a feew thins I could need help on.
On the history section, I plan on separating the decades as such:
1956-1965: Beginnings 1966-1975: The birth of total football 1976-1985: English dominance 1986-1995: Renaissance 1996-2005: G14 dominance
Plus, some info or sites of the cultural impact of the tournament in Europe would help.
What does everyone think? 184.37.251.225 (talk) 15:49, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- Go ahead and do so, you can put it on your sandbox before applying it so we can see how it looks.
– HonorTheKing (talk) 17:57, 12 September 2011 (UTC)- I would be wary of this suggestion. The user claims to have revamped the Copa Libertadores page singlehandedly, but their only edit has been to this page! Have they been working under a different name, perhaps as a registered user? – PeeJay 18:07, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
- As I assume PeeJay was (correctly) hinting, it was another of the many examples of User:Jamen Somasu evading his block. Oldelpaso (talk) 19:07, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

[edit] UEFA champion doesn't qualify for the World Cup
It says in the article that the winner qualifies for the World Cup. That doesn't even make since. Every club in the league has players from different countries. Silly wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.215.63.237 (talk) 03:00, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- It says FIFA Club World Cup. nothing wrong with that.
