The flag shown in the seal appears to be a slightly different one than the Serapis.

The Serapis flag has a red stripe under the canton, not a white one as appears.

The flag shown is closer to this one from 1778, according to this site: 13 Star - 1778

John Paul Jones did not take over the renamed Bonhomme Richard until 1779.

Hey, do we want to include the YouTube link of the John Paul Jones guys doing the "I'm on a boat" spoof?

An F-14 Tomcat has two engines. So, to say that "the" engine exploded is a bit vague. What likely happened, is that one of the engines lost one or more compressor blades. This would unbalance the compressor, which at transonic speeds would probably come apart quite quickly. Most of the rotating stuff would naturally go outward, radially, and give a convincing imitation of an explosion (which would probably happen some number of milliseconds later, when suddenly liberated fuel ignites). Some debris would be sucked through to destroy combustion chambers and turbine spools. So, the only question is how quickly the other engine would come apart, from collateral damage.

So, I guess that I'm saying that it should read "the engines exploded". Sheesh. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.186.240.226 (talk) 20:48, 6 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I can't access the source page that is reference for the award section. It appears to be a private document that is password protected. The addition of the awards occurred with this diff. Added by @Yoctownyocol: Can you fix your addition so it uses verifiable WP:RS, please? David Tornheim (talk) 15:33, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
