legal issues to Wikipedia in Sri Lanka[edit]

"While the town is under government control, the movement of LTTE cadres in the town area is an open secret"

This sentence will create legal issues to Wikipedia in Sri Lanka.removed it. I have changed removed some words that may create possible grounds to sue Wikipedia. Future edited please keep this in mind when you expanding the article.

No he is the current (as of 2006/06/10) head of SLMM in Vavuniya please visit the site below. SLMM Vavuniya Branch.

Therfore I removed the following from the article.

SLMM (Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission] runs an office in Vavuniya and a Point of Contact in Kilinochchi. Tamil and Sinhalese speaking interpreters are available during office hours in Vavuniya office and on call for emergencies after office hours.

Vavuniya District is populated mainly by Tamils (85%). Sinhalese and Muslims live isolated in small pockets but there is no tension between the ethnical groups in Vavuniya

DO Vavuniya (DO3) will:

(I) In order to be accessible: 1) Maintain District Office in Vavuniya. 2) Establish and maintain Point of Contact (POC) in Kilinochchi. 3) Patrol the Area of Resposibility (AOR). (See ANNEX B).

(II) Conduct monitoring within DO-3 AOR.

(III) Liaise and facilitate meetings between the parties.

(IV) Liaise and participate in meetings with Parties and local leaders within AOR. (See PART 3, OPERATIONS, para 5.4).

(V) Enquire into any complaints and incidents within the AOR.

(VI) Chair and employ Local Monitoring Committee (LMC) as appropriate to inquire into complaints and resolve CFA violations.

(VII) On order detach personnel for monitoring temporary special events.

(VIII) Report according to SOP 3, OPERATIONS, Para 7.

(IX) Assume other tasks ordered by HoM.

I have working experience in Vavuniya for many years and I still have many friends. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia please do not add what you believe. Virtually anybody publish anything on the internet however not everything can be considered as reliable source of reference. --Umapathy (உமாபதி) 16:12, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the following sentances because of Lack of significant evidance. Some links to external websites looks like spam.

Its name is believed to be a modification of the ancient name "Vewu Nimava", or "the end of Water reservoirs in Sinhala. (Vaeva)"[2].

Presence of SLMM in Vavuniya[edit]

There is a branch office of the SLMM in Vavuniya. As of as of June 2006, Mr. Jouni Suninen, a Finnish ex-army officer, is the head of the office.
