Pre-history of Bill Mallonee[edit]

Need to add section of Pone Cone Poines and had the demos that band showed up on several early VOL releases.

Band History[edit]

Some highlights from the band's history that need to be added.

The controversy with "Odious" from Driving the Nails and the remix of the LP by Caroline Records.

Recording Killing Floor with Peter Buck and Mark Heard. The Mark Heard Tribute album and video.

The creation of the first real VOL band for the recording and touring of Welcome to Struggleville.

The breakup of the Struggleville band and the recording of Blister Soul.

The VOL collection and attempt to market the band into the Christian Market.

The release of Slow Dark Train and the pushing of Love Cocoon onto Christian radio - a move that probably lead to the demise of their recording contract.

The reformation of the band for the To the Roof the Sky - Audible Sigh era.

The troubles getting Audible Sigh released.

The failure of Summershine on Compass, the closing of the band.

Note[edit]

Mark Hall who played accordion is not the Mark Hall who sings in the band Casting Crowns. I removed the erroneous link.
