African background[edit]

As a winner of the Ebony Shoe, Kompany must have African background. Could someone specify from what country? Thanks, Punkmorten 20:06, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

I guess its the Democratic Republic of the Congo... Julien Tuerlinckx 20:20, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
I guess so, at least, I believe that were he's father comes from. He has the belgian nationality however (there was a wrong Congo category included a while ago, but that seemed just wrong) --LimoWreck 14:06, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Football Manager 2006[edit]

Is the reference in "Trivia" really appropriate? I tend to think that it doesn't really reflect what the article is about - it's about Vincent Kompany, not a game-generated instance in a data file. Otherwise, we may as well have "Trivia" entries for Thierry Henry saying that he is rated very highly. It's fairly obvious, but is it relevant? I'll remove it. Cyril Washbrook 01:08, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Yes, right, go ahead --LimoWreck 08:55, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Arsenal[edit]

I'm removing the section here about Kompany possibly joining Arsenal, because until there is anything concrete, this is completely irrelevent. If every transfer rumour was included on wikipedia, then it would be ridiculous. Quincy042 (talk) 16:57, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Manchester City transfer[edit]

I've added a short line on the rumoured offer that Manchester City have had accepted for Kompany. It may reduce the number of people coming on and changing his club even though the deal hasn't been confirmed. I doubtful though. Srushe (talk) 16:57, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Stupid question[edit]

Does being an unused substitute count as appearance? --OpenFuture (talk) 08:38, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

Number of selections (in the assumption the player also made it to the stadium) = number of times of having been an unused substitute + number of appearances (synonym for appearances: caps). So, even though every substitute appears on the form of the referee, not every selection means an appearance. Kareldorado (talk) 21:02, 20 September 2014 (UTC)

Height[edit]

What would be the best estimate? Depending on the source, it goes from 1.90m (National Football Teams) to 1.93m (=6'04", Manchester City website). Of course, people vary with 1cm throughout a day and inches are a bit less precise than centimeters, but still... Kareldorado (talk) 20:47, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
