Stylistic errors[edit]

Some one has recently added a bunch of stuff to the article that has significant issues:

  1. The information was written as if it were a corporate report of fluff piece on the company.
  2. Information that should be in the corporate parent article was included here.
  3. all of the additions were unsighted.
  4. The information added was possibly a copyvio issue.
  5. The new additions were not setup according WP Style guidelines

Due to problems, I have removed three sections that were problematic. Unfortunately, there is more in the article body. I also cleaned up the talk page, and removed the miza bot tag. The talk page doesn't get enough hits to warrant it. --Jeremy (blah blahI did it!) 08:50, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't mention current ad campaign with Wendy Thomas, Morgan Smith Goodwin, and Kristen Schaal[edit]

After Dave Thomas' death, his daughter Wendy herself has starred in several commercials--not to mention some actresses playing a "young Wendy", including Kristen Schaal and Morgan Smith Goodwin--the latter who is the "Wendy's girl", and perhaps should get an article of her own.

Why is none of this mentioned in the "Advertising" section?! I fill it myself, but I don't care enough about this article to do all the research required. PLEASE somebody do all this--as it's important to keep articles up to date!! RobertGustafson (talk) 00:40, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree and added the tag. I did a few searches for references for the campaign but came up dry. Hopefully somebody will be able to find something on it. ADNewsom (talk) 20:40, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WTF redirect?[edit]

Why does Morgan Smith Goodwin redirect here? It isn't like Bruce Willis redirects to the die hard article or robin Williams redirects to snikers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.47.30.187 (talk) 23:34, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated revisions[edit]

Whoever is updating the article to any outdated revisions from last year or anytime years ago, please STOP! We've already put in the new logo and other recent updates on the chain in the article until some vandals came by to update this article to one of the outdated revisions. --FrancineFan3883 (talk) 18:52, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Logos/Edit Request 2/20/14[edit]

  • The images of the previous logos that were used by Wendy's over the years need to be uploaded to Wikipedia.
  • These logos can be found on Logopedia and I will talk about the logos.
  • 1st and 2nd logos: The first logo was a very basic logo. It had a white backround and an ugly Wendy in the oval to the right. The logo was monified slightly in 1970 when the words "Quality Is Our Recipe" were added above Wendy. This logo was in used until 1976.
  • 3rd logo: In 1976, Wendy's got their fist major redisigned logo. Wendy was change to make her look better. The tagline "Old Fashioned Hamburgers" was modified and the swirls became detached from the portrait of Wendy. This logo was only in use for about two years.
  • 4th logo: In 1978, the logo was given a yellow backround for the outside and a red beveled rectangle was given for the name Wendy's and the portrait of Wendy. This logo was in used until 1983 but can still be seen at a few older restaurants.
  • 5th logo: In 1983, Wendy's debuted their fifth and longest lasting logo. Where did this logo go? It was on the page in a spot after the new logo was put in until some idiot removed it for no reason at all! Anyway, this logo can still be seen at nearly all of the restaurants.
  • 6th logo: Already on the page.
Could someone please answer my edit request soon? I've been waiting for an answer for almost a month! --24.147.1.197 (talk) 23:12, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Jacob Chesley[reply]
I think keeping the logos at Logopedia is a good idea, there would be far too many non-free images here. -- [[ axg //  ]] 23:35, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Merger Proposal[edit]

Prior to June 2011, The Wendy's Company owned both Wendy's and Arby's brands, and it therefore made sense to have a separate page for the corporate parent. Today, the corporate entity and the operating unit of the brand that sells Wendy hamburgers are one in the same and should be the same page. The company's annual report discusses the corporate divestitures in the Introduction for anyone caring to dig into the history. IPO of Wendy's not mentioned in History[edit]

Wendy's had its initial public offering in September of 1976 according to their website but there is no mention of this in the History section on the page. I think a brief mention of this in the history section would be useful alongside the multiple mentions of the different franchises throughout the article. [edit]

These changes will not be super comprehensive, but rather simple things I feel will help to begin bringing the advertisement section of the page up to date. I am a new user of wikipedia so pardon my dust if these changes are not in depth enough for any use.

In 2015 Wendy's began moving away from using formal actors in their ad campaigns and began moving toward a more modern approach of advertisement we now see with many restaurant chains today. These newer style ads feature close ups of their new menu offerings along with text and a narrated voice. These changes came alongside their new offering of the 4 for 4 value meal ad campaign.

In 2021 Wendy's launched an ad campaign supporting NCAA football becoming its official hamburger. The ad also featured their "fresh never frozen" slogan to go along with the beef they use for their burgers, and mentions of game day delivery with the Wendy's mobile app.

If anyone is able to any other information on these newer commercials it would be appreciated. GingerXD777 (talk) 03:57, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Poland?[edit]

Please add the following paragraph to an appropriate section of the article concerning food safety. A new section or sub-section may need to be created.

In late August 2022, 97 persons reported getting sick after eating sandwiches containing romaine lettuce at Wendy's restaurants in the states of Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Kentucky. Although the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has yet to identify the specific source of the E. coli outbreak, the company had removed romaine lettuce from the affected restaurants as a precaution. Of the 97 reported cases, 43 people had been hospitalized and 10 developed hemolytic uremic syndrome.[1][2][3]

If you need help on creating the appropriate section, I suggest looking at Chipotle Mexican Grill#Food safety, Jack in the Box#E. coli outbreak, Taco John's#2006 E. coli outbreak, Qdoba#2015 typhoid incident, and Sizzler#Food safety for suggestions.

Done Created a food safety section. ––FormalDude (talk) 04:16, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@FormalDude: FYI, in your recent addition to the new food safety section, you accidentally added a logic error (and some minor misspellings) in your addition through a misinterpretation of the CDC report. When the news sources reported that the CDC has yet to identify the specific source of the oubreak (the word should by outbreak), they are stating that the CDC AND/OR the relevant state and local health departments are unable to determine the source of the bacterial contamination. The CDC already knew which bacterial strain which caused the outbreak since hospitals routine perform bacterial screening tests on food poisoning patients so that they can administer the correct treatments to their patients. However, what is meant by source of the bacterial contamination, the CDC is unable to determine how the bacteria got into the sandwiches at the affected restaurants in the first place. Did the bacteria enter the restaurants through contaminated food products obtained from a particular vendor and/or farm? Did a contaminated food preparation worker brought the bacteria into the food preparation area through the lack of proper hygiene? Or was it a combination of all of the above. It is a mystery at the moment since the lettuce served on the sandwiches are suspected as the cause of the infection, but at the same time no one who ate the salads prepared at the same restaurants had reported to have gotten sick. The CDC has not been able to trace the source of the infection to a particular item(s) and/or vendor(s). 108.71.214.235 (talk) 04:47, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wendy’s actually DOES have a signature sandwich just like the whopper and Big Macs, it’s called the Baconator, there’s also a smaller version of it called Son of a Baconator… it is THE staple Wendy’s burger… I’m not sure who thought they didn’t have one, but they were wrong. 2001:569:FDC5:6600:3475:F8DA:AF2F:9FB6 (talk) 19:15, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
