High School/Middle School[edit]

the article states that west moor used to have a high school. as i understand, it was a middle school - i never went there, but i remember 3 middle schools closing to accommodate the two tier system (Killingworth, West Moor and Shiremoor). am i right here? Scott w 22:20, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The George Stephenson Grammar School used to be in West Moor. It was built in the late 50's and was certainly operational until at least the early 70's, when I moved away. I heard it had been converted to some other type of school. It used to be on the corner (almost) of the road leading to the Four Lane Ends.Ginsbergg (talk) 16:09, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
