Madrigal collection[edit]

I've just heard that the famous madrigal collection, The Triumphs of Oriana (dedicated to Queen Elizabeth) may have been performed in the house of SWC for the May Day celebrations in 1601. (BBC Radio 3, composer of the Week, Thursday, 22 February). -- comment added by IP in 2007

Date error[edit]

"The earliest extant manuscript of this work, which may date from the late 15th century, was dedicated to Cornwallis's "worthey frende Mr John Donne".[7]" - he wrote at least eighty years before he was born? -- 92.24.143.29 (talk) 19:07, 22 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
