Hi Anthony, I've been researching my family and had a passing interest in others with the Blackmore surname. I've been in contact with family members (a great neice) of William's. I've read the books by Herbert O'Bayer and found several other matierals referencing William. I started this article. Still interest in learning more. Are there any other kindred spirits researching William Blackmore?

First Paragraph[edit]

I was concerned about the changes to the first paragraph. I've just changed "investment promoter of Spanish American Land Grants" to just investment promoter. William was an investment promoter in Europe and Africa prior to his promotions in America. He also was not limited to these land grants, he had promoted lands in Virgina and other projects like the railroad.

I researched the other changes and recently read an excerpt from "Indians and Europe" by Christian F. Feest. William was shown to have an interest in Native Americans that predates his arrival. Also, I re-read the portion of Herbert O. Brayer's book describing the circumstances at the time of his death. The railroad deal definitly was the largest pressure he was under.

You'll note the biography is up for review. I'm concerned that there are not enough references, and that the length may be too much for Blackmore's standing as a historical figure. Where I think his strength lies as a historical character is the connections he made through social networking and the people he brought together through his dealings.
