I am converting "philanthropist and peace advocate" to "anti-war activist". The only senses in which the two old descriptions are supported by the rest of the article are applicable to almost anyone; in particular, Tacitus's irony aside, making a wilderness and calling it peace is not a contradiction but in fact one of the historically most effective means of putting one's advocacy of peace into reality; he apparently differed from that by opposing war.
