Untitled[edit]

I believe this article may be incorrectly titled. William Harry Tietkins was born and died 1844 - 1933. His father was William Henry Tietkens a chemist. see [1] SauliH 06:08, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Harry[edit]

The previous entry expressed concern over the middle names Henry and Harry. However, the spelling of the surname has caught my attention i.e. Tietkins vs Tietkens. The only reference cited in the article thus far for Tietkens is the entry in the Australian Dictionary of Biography where the spelling clearly favours Tietkens. So why did the original author of the article use "Tietkins" when the primary reference does not? Granted, a google search will bring up both versions, however the Australian Hema maps use the "kens" version for place names, and Ernest Giles's own book uses the same when referring to Tietkens, his second in command. I propose that subject to no objections within 6 months, that the article be renamed "William Harry Tietkens" Summerdrought (talk) 10:10, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Australia Twice Traversed, Ernest Giles

Done -spelling was a bit fluid in those times, but does seem obvious, as you say Crusoe8181 (talk) 12:23, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
