I think explanations about MIME types should be removed and refered to the MIME topic...
Bryan Rasmussen - I think the order of this page should be changed:
Should be something like:
1. What is a mime type - link to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mime_type with relevant summary
Followed by sections: What is the Purpose of a MIME Type? How does Data get Assigned a MIME Type? Can Data be Assigned a Wrong MIME Type? Browsers use MIME Type to Decide how to Render a Resource Beyond MIME Types?
With links to appropriate information already in Wikipedia. Maybe quick quotes here.
2. What is XML - link to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xml with relevant quote from original text -> So, what is an XML document?
Answer: an XML document is one that may or may not have an XML declaration and is followed by a root element, with well-formed content. If you open the above Word document you won’t find an XML declaration or a root element. If you open the above Notepad document you will find an XML declaration as the first thing.
Edited to reflect removal of sections showing XML examples.
3. How does XML relate to Mime Types
- XML doesn’t “have” a MIME Type!

Hey, everyone. I rewrote the article to create a better flow and tone. However, I felt the need to cut out rather large sections of the article.
