Xbox 1 name dispute[edit]

Since the Xbox One became a thing, the use of Xbox 1 is pretty much gone from common parlance and gaming journalism. So it's inaccurate to have this article redirect to the Original Xbox. Zero Serenity (talk - contributions) 12:21, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

the original xbox name xbox 1 is still in use see the kotaku article.--Crossswords (talk) 07:18, 19 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You've already been blocked for edit warring once. You come to a consensus or stop doing your change. Also, the article you cite doesn't say anything about Xbox 1. The comments section does. Zero Serenity (talk - contributions) 14:46, 19 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The only thing that really said is that some people could potentially be confused and think it was a name for the first system and nothing to indicate the it was actually common for xbox 1 to be a name for the original system. The hatnote on the Xbox one article should deal with that issue. Also based on this discussion xbox1 may need to be moved since that is a dab page as well.--67.68.162.111 (talk) 02:41, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
yes it does, it doesnt say xbox 1 but its obviously means that both one and 1 can be confused for each other. To be actually really fair the xbox one article should also be just a reference page linking to the original xbox and xbox one.--Crossswords (talk) 09:07, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm still assuming bad faith since you're now just insulting me. Zero Serenity (talk - contributions) 11:28, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Also like I said earlier all I see in that article is conern that people may confuse the two systems not evidence that people regularly call the original Xbox Xbox 1 or any evidence that the hatlink at Xbox One is insufficient.--67.68.162.111 (talk) 21:58, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
i didnt insult you in any way if you act in such a way that it is obvious youre lying i am calling it like that, and since when its an insult saying someone is lying in the first place? I have four links proving i am right and you both have zero.--Crossswords (talk) 08:20, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

And now to tear these down.

  1. IDigitalTimes is not considered reliable by WP:VG/S so that can be dismissed.
  2. Ditto.
  3. Here too.
  4. Kotaku is considered reliable. But the reference to "Xbox 1" is in comments section, so this doesn't say anything.

Phoentics matter more than a name confusion. If you say "Xbox One" and "Xbox 1" out loud, they're the same thing. Gaming journalism now refers to the original Xbox as "The Original Xbox" and until you can show that isn't true, the article will stand.
