Really Mac OS X compatible?[edit]

Is the Vision cam really compatible with Mac OS X? On Windows, you have to download a driver, but there are no drivers for Mac. --24.249.108.133 17:34, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's a USB Video Class device and works fine in Tiger with no additional software. I've tried it myself; if a source is required, the macam driver page mentions it: http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net/cameras/camera.php?id=520

Yes, it is.Today my science teacher had to use a webcam for a certain science experiment. The teachers at our school use Mac Laptops. When someone asked him what type of Camera it was,he said: "Oh its my xbox camera."

I removed a sentence in the Digimask sub section. I took out the sentence in italics.

The Xbox 360 version of World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions uses the Digimask technology that will map a player face onto the in-game avatar. This technology is also used in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas. This is similar to EyeToy line for the PlayStation brand.

There were no PS2 games that could use the eyetoy to created a 3-D model of a players head and map their appearance onto that model using the eyetoy. The eyetoy was used to take snapshots and play games controlled by gestures. Peeweejd 18:17, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Contreversy-ish?[edit]

Shouldn't there be like a "Controversy" section about the distribution of pornography using the Xbox Live Vision? Because I've seen a lot of people, at least on the Phantasy Star Universe demo, selling pornography using the camera for in-game money.Moocowsrule (talk) 03:48, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Moocowsrule[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:XBOX 360 LOGO.png[edit]

The image Image:XBOX 360 LOGO.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.

Current Status?[edit]

Now that Kinect is available. What's going to happen to the Vision Cam? Has it already been discountinued? And is it compatible in Kinect Video Chats? General Heed (talk) 20:47, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know, there is no such thing as Kinect video chat (I may well be wrong) but simply Xbox Live video chat that happens to be using Kinect. If that is correct, then I would assume the vision cam is still supported. If there is a Kinect specific chat feature, then I doubt the vision cam will work, but I'm pretty sure the Kinect works in standard video chat. As for being discontinued, you'll have to ask Microsoft; if it is and anyone here knew about it it would probably already be in the article. It's not really the kind of thing that would make the news so if it has been, it probably hasn't reported on (unlike things like the HD DVD drive which was newsworthy because it basically said HD DVD is dead).
