Why executed?

Yang KaiHui refused to file for a divorce for Mao(as the KMT wanted), not knowing that Mao at this time already took another wife(although to be fair Mao didn't know about Yang's situation either). Which is why I think we should put her marriage lasting to 1930, the year she died, instead of 1927. 1927 was the date were Mao left her to travel with the army, neither filed for divorce. At most it should be 1928, where Mao married another woman, although I don't believe Mao filed for divorce at that time with Yang KaiHui. Gnip 2:47, 09 Feburary 2008 (UTC)

Yang Kaihui was offered her freedom by Chiang if she denounced Mao, or death if she did not. She refused to denounce her husband and was tortured and executed at the age of 28. In the hearts of the Chinese who know this story, she is a true heroine and greatly admired. It is said that to Mao, Yang Kaihui was his one and true love. According to Dr Li's biography of Mao, Yang asked Mao to leave the revolution and the killings and just have an ordinary family life, but he refused as he had higher ambitions. In his boyhood Mao was 'married' to a girl by his parents as it was the tradition. The marriage was never consummated, and Mao had never acknowledged it as his first marriage. Therefore to Mao, his marriage to Yang was his first. 86.156.252.203 (talk) 23:51, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Under HUNAN article it claims this is Mao's first wife

Mao refused to acknowledge his real first wife as legitimate, so according to him, Yang Kaihui is his first wife.

Propagandistic tone

This article was clearly written by the Chinese Ministry of Journalism and Propaganda, or whatever it's called.
