For his first event, men's individual sabre, Decsi received a bye for the preliminary round of thirty-two match, before losing out to his teammate Áron Szilágyi, with a score of 9–15.[3] Few days later, he joined with his fellow fencers and teammates Szilágyi, Balázs Lontay, and Zsolt Nemcsik for the men's team sabre. Decsi and his team won the seventh place match against the Egyptian team (led by Mahmoud Samir), with a total score of 45 touches.[4]
