Tana Goertz (born Tana Colaizzi) was one of the candidates for the title of Donald Trump's The Apprentice in the television show's third season. Goertz was 37 when the season was recorded/produced. She ended as the runner-up in the season finale.

[edit] Life before the Apprentice
Goertz was the second of John and Deanna Colaizzi's five children. Her father was a salesman, and as a result, the family moved often. She spent her teenage years in Malvern, Pennsylvania and St. Davids and graduated from Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor, Pennsylvania in 1985. She later attended Villanova University, Brigham Young University, and the University of Utah. Goertz did not receive a diploma at any institution.
Prior to her television appearance-created career, she devoted her time to her first marriage and motherhood.
[edit] Performance
Goertz was introduced on The Apprentice as a mom from Iowa, and she herself played up such an image. However, as mentioned earlier, Goertz actually originates from Pennsylvania.
As a Season 3 Candidate, Goertz performed very well on the first 13 weeks, but lost her task in Week 14. She served as project manager for Week 5 and led the Net Worth team to victory. Goertz was only a passive figure on Weeks 6 and 7, when Net Worth's losing streak began, before transferring to the Magna team on Week 8. During her tenure with Magna, Goertz also led a victory on Week 11. Her winning came to an end when she was transferred back to Net Worth and lost as Project Manager on Week 14, but she was able to defend herself by bringing up her record of wins as Project Manager, which ultimately got Alex Thomason fired for lying to Trump.
During the interviews, Goertz shone, but on the final task, she asked for a different team, and called her subordinates "The Three Stooges." Because of Goertz's disrespect of her subordinates Trump hired Kendra Todd instead.
[edit] Post-Apprentice
Goertz aggressively denied her performance had anything to do with her loss after the ending of The Apprentice, and said she was naive to believe Trump would have chosen a "street smart" contestant over someone with "book smarts." She also said of Trump, "He wants a 'yes sir' [person and] I'm not the 'yes sir' girl, I'm going to tell it like it is, he saw what he was getting with me and he didn't want me so God bless." She also said, "That was why Kendra won. What you see is what you get with me, I'm not going to be the type of person to stroke you."
Goertz claims to have received many job offers, but from her website, it seems she is working for herself as a motivational speaker.
She is currently the star of a TV commercial for the Bedazzler, a product she wanted to use in one of her assignments on The Apprentice, though the commercial makes no attempt to show what show in particular she was from.
Tana and another Apprentice co-contestant (Craig Williams) formed a duo featured on the Reality TV Stars edition of Fear Factor. Her team won a pair of Tivos and $10,000 in an early stunt but did not win the final one.
Goertz is the mother of two children, the owner of several start-up companies (including an Internet Commerce website), an entrepreneur, and a sales representative/executive for the Mary Kay Organization. She started her entrepreneurship at the age of nine when she sold telephone accessories strictly at the neighborhood level.
Goertz has been married twice. Her second husband is Kurtis Goertz, a weather man for the KCCI-TV television station in Des Moines, Iowa.
Goertz often takes advantage of the recognition of The Apprentice and organizes many activities playing off the Trump vehicle, using the name, images, and phrases associated with The Apprentice. While there are many copyright infringement issues, Trump has yet to file suit.
