Tanda thermal power plant

NTPC Tanda thermal power plant is located in Ambedkar Nagar district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The power plant is one of the coal based power plants of NTPC. The coal for the power plant is sourced from North Karnpura Coal Fields. Source of water for the power plant is from Tanda Pump Canal on Saryu River. The plant capacity is proposed to be expanded by additional 1300 MW in second phase with construction of new 2X650 MW plants.

  • 4 units of 110 MW each

Totaling 440 MW.

This power plant was taken over by NTPC from Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Board on January 2000.
