Tejeda is a village and a municipality in the mountainous central part of the island of Gran Canaria in the Province of Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. Its population is 2,028 (2013),[2] and the area is 103.30 km².[1] The highest point of the island Gran Canaria, Pico de las Nieves (1,949 m elevation) is located in the municipality of Tejeda. The town Tejeda is situated 6 km northwest of the Pico de las Nieves and 23 km southwest of the island capital Las Palmas. Another remarkable summit in the municipality is Roque Nublo (1,813 m).
