The following discussion is an archived discussion of the DYK nomination of the article below. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as this nomination's talk page, the article's talk page or Wikipedia talk:Did you know), unless there is consensus to re-open the discussion at this page. No further edits should be made to this page.

The result was no consensus to promote after 11 days. After one week, the nominator has failed addressed the reviewer's concerns about (i) reworking one of the paragraphs in the article and (ii) providing evidence that the image was released by the copyright holder under an appropriate license (such as CC-BY-SA 3.0) in the form of an OTRS ticket. If the nominator can resolve these issues within four days of this close, I am willing to reopen the nomination. Cunard (talk) 23:36, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

  • Some references are bare. The article itself is mainly about which papers have written about him, which reads rather promotional. Any further information available? Also concerned about the image, as we have no source information (I've tagged it for speedy for that reason). Crisco 1492 (talk) 15:44, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
I have filled in the references, hopefully that solves the problem. As per the picture, I hope I have solved that problem as well (take a look and let me know if I need to do anything). As to the entry content itself - well, give me some suggestions. I think the first and last paragraphs are fine, but I can see your point when it comes to the middle paragraph. I do offer this defense: the only real way to get information about a superhero is to read the newspaper - it isn't like it is something you can get first hand knowledge of (unless you are a bad guy of course)...and, there aren't any academic books or journal entries about super heroes either, so... So, if that helps defend the entry, cool; if not, please provide me some direction as to take it. Frank0051 (talk) 21:43, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
  • The issue isn't that the newspapers are being used as sources, but that the entire middle paragraph is "he was featured in an article in so-and-so". Rather than explicitly stating in text what papers featured him, try adding information from the articles (in your own words) that are referenced to the newspaper. I'm not quite sure the current sourcing information for both images is adequate. Do you have a link to show he allows his promotional pictures to be used by anyone for any purpose? Ok, I will try to work on the middle paragraph tonight. As for the pictures, I don't think there is really anything else I could do - I (and others) have asked Master Legend and he is okay with the usage in various places. What do you think? Frank0051 (talk) 00:08, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
