P. Shilu Ao[edit]

Created/expanded by Ashwin147 (talk). Self nom at 19:50, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

  • Article is new, long enough, fully referenced. Hook is Verifiable against sources. QPQ needed. Neutral, but still needs some copyediting. Eg. As head of the NPC, Ao enabled Naga politics to adapt to and adopt successfully the Indian parliamentary democratic model of governance looks like fans point of view. Small copyediting would make article better. Not mandatory but get it assessed under quality scale and adding infobox would make it better. --Nizil (talk) 08:16, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
  • Actually, as this appears to be Ashwin147's second-ever DYK nomination, there is no quid pro quo review required, though a review would be welcomed. Only after five article nominations do QPQ reviews become a requirement. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:28, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
Thank you, Bluemoonset.. I didn't noticed that. No QPQ.--Nizil (talk) 20:17, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
  • Based on the above review ("fan's point of view") and the request for copyediting, it would seem that this article needs some work on neutrality issues and prose issues before it can be passed. Are these being done? (The infobox and quality assessment are not required for DYK.) BlueMoonset (talk) 19:43, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
  • BlueMoonset, thanks for that reminder. I've just edited (hopefully all) the grammatical and syntactical issues with the article. As for that one line which may be construed as a fan's point of view, it's my paraphrasing of the line Dolly Kikon, a doctoral candidate at Stanford, has written in that essay which has been referenced at the end of the line. The essay in toto is neutral in its tone. I hope this is okay then? Ashwin147 (talk) 07:51, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
  • New review needed now that issues have been addressed and explained. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:51, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
  • Good to go. AGF on new and long enough per previous review. References fine. Copyediting has been done. I do have a minor concern over article name per WP:TITLE. I found it odd that there is a full-stop after "P". I note that Encyclopaedia of North-east India uses "P. Shilu Ao" or "Shilu Ao" consistently throughout but Sunday Post inconsistently uses "P Shilu Ao" and "P. Shilu Ao". I also note that WP:TITLE lists H. H. Asquith. Therefore, "P. Shilu Ao" seems appropriate (but still odd to me) --Senra (talk) 15:29, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
Of course P. is correct. I have been copyediting & added some balance. I must say it is remarkable how little coverage all our Nagaland articles give to the insugency, which dominated Ao's period in office, & is frankly the headline story about Nagaland. Much better book sources than the article used are readily available on google books, in the UK at least. Johnbod (talk) 15:37, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
