I can't find any way to work in all the facts -- the pope's name, the banning of alchemy, the non-banning of chemistry, the often reported, and the pope's study of chemistry -- all at once. Even leaving something out it's pretty awkward, but here's a thought:

  • This article is new enough and long enough. ALT2 is probably the best hook and I have struck the others. The hook facts have inline citations and I detected no policy issues. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 08:00, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
