Usage

This template {{WikiProject Football}} adds articles to one or more subcategories of Category:WikiProject Football articles and is a self-reference. Please add it to relevant articles' talk pages.

This template should be transcluded as {{WikiProject Football}} and not substituted {{subst:}} because it employs conditional code. Transclusion also allows easy updating of all the Project's talk pages without having to edit thousands of pages. For examples of how the template will appear under various parameter scenarios, please see Template:WikiProject Football/Examples.

While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has optional class parameters that add extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:

Parameters legend

• class: FA, FL, A, GA, B, C, Start, Stub, List, NA, Template, and Cat. If blank (#default), this will default as unassessed and list the article at Category:Unassessed football articles. NA is "non article", such as for categories (use Cat), disambiguous pages (use NA), images (use NA), portals (use NA), redirects (use NA), and templates (use Template). Descriptions of some of the options can be found at WikiProject Football/Quality scale.
• importance: Top, High, Mid, and Low. If blank, this will default as unknown importance. Descriptions of the options can be found at WikiProject Football/Importance scale.
• Argentina: Answer yes for articles relating to Argentine football. They will then come to the attention of the Argentine football task force.
• Arsenal: Answer yes for articles relating to Arsenal F.C. They will then come to the attention of the Arsenal F.C. task force.
• Canada: Answer yes for articles relating to Canadian football (soccer). They will then come to the attention of the American and Canadian soccer task force.
• Celtic: Answer yes for articles relating to Celtic F.C. They will then come to the attention of the Celtic F.C. task force.
• DCUtd: Answer yes for articles relating to D.C. United. They will then come to the attention of the D.C. United task force.
• England: Answer yes for articles relating to England football. They will then come to the attention of the English football task force.
  • Non-League: Answer yes for articles relating to English non-League football. They will then come to the attention of the English non-league football task force.
• FCBayern: Answer yes for articles relating to FC Bayern Munich. They will then come to the attention of the FC Bayern Munich task force.
• France: Answer yes for articles relating to French football. They will then come to the attention of the French football task force.
• Germany: Answer yes for articles relating to German football. They will then come to the attention of the German football task force.
• HongKong: Answer yes for articles relating to Hong Kong football. They will then come to the attention of the Hong Kong football task force.
• Iran: Answer yes for articles relating to Iranian football. They will then come to the attention of the Iranian football task force.
• Irish: Answer yes for articles relating to Irish football. They will then come to the attention of the Irish football task force.
• Italy: Answer yes for articles relating to Italian football. They will then come to the attention of the Italian football task force.
• Liverpool: Answer yes for articles relating to Liverpool F.C. They will then come to the attention of the Liverpool F.C. task force.

• Season: Answer yes for articles relating to football seasons. They will then come to the attention of the Season article task force.
• Seattle: Answer yes for articles relating to Seattle Sounders FC. They will then come to the attention of the Seattle Sounders FC task force.
• SheffUtd: Answer yes for articles relating to Sheffield United F.C. They will then come to the attention of the Sheffield United F.C. task force.
• SheffWed: Answer yes for articles relating to Sheffield Wednesday F.C. They will then come to the attention of the Sheffield Wednesday F.C. task force.
• Spain: Answer yes for articles relating to Spanish football. They will then come to the attention of the Spanish football task force.
• Sweden: Answer yes for articles relating to Swedish football. They will then come to the attention of the Swedish football task force.
• Taiwan: Answer yes for articles relating to Taiwanese football. They will then come to the attention of the Taiwanese football task force.
• USA: Answer yes for articles relating to United States football (soccer). They will then come to the attention of the American and Canadian soccer task force.
• Variants: Answer yes for articles relating to variants of association football. They will then come to the attention of the Football variants task force.
• Wales: Answer yes for articles relating to Welsh football. They will then come to the attention of the Welsh football task force.
• Women: Answer yes for articles relating to Women's football. They will then come to the attention of the Women's football task force.
• attention: Answer yes if the article needs immediate attention.
• needs-infobox: Answer yes if the article needs an appropriate infobox added.
• small: Answer yes if the template needs to be smaller, and right-aligned.

Notes

To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template. A common initial configuration for the template includes the following basic parameters:
