Template:Should be PNG

This image was uploaded in a format such as GIF or JPEG and therefore has lost its quality. It is more suited to the PNG format, which supports full color support, lossless compression and transparency. Please reproduce and upload a PNG version of this image; after doing so, replace all instances of this version (noted under the "File links" header), tag this version with {{PNG version available|NewImage.png}}, and remove this tag. See also Wikipedia:Preparing images for upload. Please do not convert this image directly to .PNG! This image has already lost its quality; conversion will not restore it.

Usage

This template should be insert on raster images which are in wrong image formats and therefore have lost quality. For instance:

Compression artefact

Loss of image transparency

Loss of color depth

1. Cartoon or screenshots of computer software in JPEG format that are plagued with compression artifact
2. Images in GIF format that have lost their color depth
3. Items like logo and computer icons which have completely or partially lost their transparency and/or have a solid border

This template should not be used for:

1. Images for which only a JPEG source is available and will not become significantly smaller as a result of a conversion
2. Animated GIF images
3. Vector images (SVG should be used in this case)
4. Size reduction, which is possible through a direct conversion

This template automatically adds images to Category:Images which should be in PNG format.
