Template:Wiktionary redirect

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  (Redirected from Template:Wi)
Jump to: navigation, search
Documentation icon Template documentation[view] [edit] [history] [purge]

This template creates a soft redirect to Wiktionary.

Do not place it on every possible word. It is only for dictionary definitions and which, due to previous re-creations, are likely to be re-created.

This template is a self-reference and so is part of the Wikipedia project rather than the encyclopaedic content.

Notice: {{longcomment}} is added to prevent a page from being listed on Special:Shortpages.

{{wtr}} {{subst:longcomment}}
Provides a soft redirect to the Wiktionary page, using the current page's name, but the first letter is turned to lower case. Check if the case is appropriate.

{{wtr|sophisticated}} {{subst:longcomment}}
Pass a parameter to specify the link target.

{{wtr|Category:English idioms|many=yes}}
Pass "many=yes" to link to lists or categories on Wiktionary.

  1. This template should not be used via substitution in most cases.
  2. This template will categorise tagged articles into Category:Redirects to Wiktionary.

{{Wiktionary category}} Ditto, more verbose type.
