I removed the template of the Belgian general elections back to template:Belgian general elections, which is of the same format as the templates of other countries and does only contains the elections at the national level.

In the template template:Belgian elections I included the two templates template:Belgian general elections and template:Belgian local elections.

I hope this may be a good trade-off? --Donar Reiskoffer 08:02, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well I don't know whether you are familiar with the Belgian politics. But the regional and the federal elections both have a direct impact on the composition of for instance the Belgian Senate. Moreover very often politician swap between the regional and the federal level. It is entirely justified that the regional elections appear on a template on a federal election page. Feel free to explain why you think otherwise on this talk page. --Donar Reiskoffer 08:13, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But the fact that the regional elections affect the Senate are largely irrelevant to the articles on the federal elections; if you really want a link, put it into the text of the articles noting that the regional elections also had an effect on the Senate composition, rather than putting in a template that links to all regional (and totally irrelevant) municipal elections.
Also, the Template:Belgian general elections should be the one located at Template:Belgian elections as it includes referendums, and not just general elections, and is also the standard name format for these templates. Given that there are only four general election articles, if you really want the regional ones to show up, why not just add a link to the local elections template? Adding another template for something that could easily be done in the text seems a bit wasteful. Number 57 14:21, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Number_57. —Nightstallion (?) 19:07, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It is a very good idea to have one template for all elections in Belgium, including the election for the European Union in Belgium.Sijo Ripa 18:37, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
