I want to change the type of the table. Current table does not include "arrows" that enable to sort. This table includes too few information.Manmanwiki (talk) 21:34, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

This table is based on the boilerplate {{Electiontable}}, which does not support sorting. What information are you missing exactly? --hydrox (talk) 23:05, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
I would like to change the type of the table like in Finnish parliamentary election, 2007 -article. If you oppose that, why?Manmanwiki (talk) 10:38, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
Because this is the standard election table in the English language Wikipedia. The one in the 2007 article is also really ugly. What is wrong with this table? Have a look at some other en-wiki election articles. Most have this type of table because it is the convention. But please feel free to add new columns to this table eg. .MPs%/votes%, % of MPs if you see a need for them. --hydrox (talk) 13:56, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
What property of the table (Finnish parliamentary election, 2007) is ugly, in other words, why is it ugly? I like that some red and green arrows are in a separate column. Do you oppose that? I would like also to change some of the titles of the table, for example seats -> MPs, ± -> swing. I thank you that you do not oppose to add extra columns.Manmanwiki (talk) 16:34, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
Please be wary of of adding useless statistics to the template. Also, when adding new columns add them to all parties, your previous actions were a violation of WP:NPOV and I'll revert them. Feel free to add the columns when you have the time to make the calculations for all parties so that your additions don't break the layout of the table.
This table has a floathing width while the 2007 article has full-width tables. I still don't understand why do you want to override a well-established en-wiki convention. See eg. Template:United Kingdom parliamentary election, 2010 or Template:Swedish general election, 2010. Ps. I found a way to make the table sortable. --hydrox (talk) 11:33, 23 April 2011 (UTC) Nope, it doesn't work. However, for future reference: you can make an electiontable sortable by adding {{electiontable |sortable=yes| to the very beginning. --hydrox (talk) 11:55, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Adding of Swedish party names[edit]

I don't like the fact that the second language names were added to the table even for parties that are mainly unilingual. It makes the party name column unnecessarily long. Most parties in mainland Finland (except Swedish People's Party, which is primarily Swedish-speaking) are primarily Finnish-speaking, but have a Swedish-language special interests subgroup. These include SDP (subgroup: FSD), NCP (subgroup: Svedel), Greens (subgroup: FSG) and Centre (subgroup: CSD). In addition Christian Democrats have Swedish-speaking chapters. My suggestion would be to have full primary language name for each party. That is: full Finnish name for all except SPP, which would have its full Swedish name (Svenska folkpartiet i Finland). --hydrox (talk) 16:46, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

Even though not every party has a Swedish district, I think that all of them has Swedish-speaking voters and members, and these names are as official as the Finnish ones. The Swedish People's Party has Finnish-speaking voters and members as well. By the way, I've changed the layout so the table is not long anymore. Stadscykel (talk) 16:56, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, I got the same idea just after posting the message. I think the table layout is quite bearable now, though I moved SPP's Swedish name before its Finnish name. --hydrox (talk) 17:00, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
