Accessibility issues[edit]

Taking Empire State Building as an example, the red background/ blue link text colour combination used in the "NYC Landmark" header has very low contrast and thus fails WP:MOSCOLOUR and WP:COLOUR, and WCAG 2.0's "AA" category. The blue link on dark blue ("U.S. National Historic Landmark") also fails WCAG "AAA". Such backgrounds should be changed to pastel shades, after testing for compatibility with WCAG guidelines, or be replaced by coloured borders or icons, or be removed. {{Infobox legislature}} was recently switched to border colours. this seems to be a simple way to fix the issue. Frietjes (talk) 14:44, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
This remains unresolved. How are we gong to fix it? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:42, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

So you said, but the matte remains unresolved... Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 17:35, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

Redlinked category issue[edit]

Pulaski Skyway has a redlinked category, Category:Historic district contributing properties in USA New Jersey Hudson County being added through some template. The category is poorly named, and I can only assume it's being automatically created by the infobox. Any assistance on getting the name fixed, and then creating the appropriate category is appreciated. Imzadi 1979  14:58, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

I don't know the ins-and-out of the template, but it's probably coming through |locmapin= USA New Jersey Hudson County. Chris857 (talk) 16:14, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
fixed here until I can find some time to rewrite the autocat feature. Frietjes (talk) 17:44, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

Infobox airport[edit]

I just added an option (|borderless=yes) which will allow this template to be embedded in non-infobox-based templates, like {{infobox airport}}. the problem is that the "child=yes" feature in {{infobox}} assumes that the parent box uses two-columns. since {{infobox airport}} uses several columns, this doesn't work. however, the borderless option does work (see Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport). feel free to revert/discuss a different method if there is a problem, but please fix Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport if you do. one possible alternative would be to change {{infobox airport}} to make the core use two columns, but with subtables for the multicolumn parts, but that would require a more invasive change. Governing body - what does it mean exactly?[edit]

The definition of Governing body in the doc is "Services that are governing the place". Does this mean the owners or operators of the place, or who gave the place the designation? Stevie is the man! TalkWork 15:01, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

The owners.--ɱ (talk) 15:20, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
{{Infobox park}} sensibly has a set of parameters for these various roles. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:23, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
I've always used that field to indicate either the government agency with current administrative jurisdiction for the site ("U.S. Forest Service", "Oregon Department of Transportation", "Corbett School District"), or simply "Private" if it's privately owned (with some exceptions for prominent private entities such as universities, historical societies, etc.). Your second option would be kind of meaningless since it's always the National Park Service that is the final word on designation. I agree that definition in the documentation is confusing at best. — Ipoellet (talk) 15:27, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

Thanks everyone for the quick feedback! It helps me a lot. I agree the definition should be better worded. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 15:37, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

Contributing properties[edit]

Under Template:Infobox NRHP#Contributing property only, it says that CPs of a historic district shouldn't get the NRHP banner on the infobox, but the CP articles I've been working on, Beechwood (Vanderlip mansion) and Sleepy Hollow Country Club both have it. I am using the nrhp_type=cp parameter, so either the infobox coding has changed or something's wrong with my infoboxes. Does someone know how to fix this?--ɱ (talk) 15:22, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

The NRHP banner will appear any time the |refnum= parameter is filled in. To indicate the refnum of the umbrella historic district, as you seem to be intending, use the |partof= and |partof_refnum= parameters. So you only want to use |refnum= if the property is individually listed on the National Register, which some properties can be in addition to being CPs. I've made the changes to both Beechwood and Sleepy Hollow Country Club for you. — Ipoellet (talk) 17:46, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
Okay, thanks!--ɱ (talk) 17:53, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

Redirect category[edit]

Category:Historic districts in USA New Jersey Hudson County is a redirect category that is populated by this template. Can someone either fix the template so it instead populates Category:Historic districts in Hudson County, New Jersey or else fix the articles? Timrollpickering (talk) 08:49, 15 September 2014 (UTC)

fixed the articles. Frietjes (talk) 16:03, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
