Template talk:Keelboats worldwide
Seems like this list is missing lots of stuff. If it is going to include the Antrim 27, why not include the Express 27? There are also many other production racing keelboats.
Do we need this at all???
- Yes. It is useful. I like it. Tkjazzer 07:32, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
X metre classes
There seems to be a lack of consistency about the names used for these. The template uses names of the form 12 Metre (keelboat), but I found the 12-metres at 12-metre class. I didn't check to see if we already had articles for others that currently are red links in this template. Not sure what the right thing is, just making a note of the problem. What is this for?
It would be good if this discussion page clarified what this template is for -- in fact, it should do, according to Wikipedia policy.
Specifically, is this for racing keelboat classes, or all keelboats? More specifically, should Westsail 32 be added? (Hey, it won the Pacific Cup twice... ;-) — Johan the Ghost seance 10:16, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- OK, I've just seen that it has been added -- but I still think that clarification of this template's purpose is required. — Johan the Ghost seance 10:18, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- I'm raising this point again. At this time, we have people (Colin Archer) and manufacturers (Freedom Yachts) on the list. Although I know that boats built along Colin Archer designs are frequently referred by his name, it's a bit confusing since the article about has very little about the boats. In my opinion, only classes should be allowed to the list...be they either one-design or construction classes. Any other opinions...? --Mikoyan21 21:53, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- 100% agree - classes only. Boatman 07:31, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
