Template talk:South Asian history

reduced version of the hopelessly bloated {{HistoryOfSouthAsia}}. Keep it small! --dab (𒁳) 16:50, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Last date should as: 1947-present. 96.229.179.106 (talk) 01:29, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
It's a one-size-fits-all box, 'south Asia' is pretty big. Infoboxes make things look much simpler than they are and can be very misleading. Doug Weller (talk) 17:37, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
- they do. people taking infoboxes as a substitute for articles only have themselves to blame. --dab (𒁳) 13:26, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
Why is it labled History of india?? should it not be 'South Asia'? Khokhar (talk) 22:20, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

It is true that the pre-1947 history is at History of India, while the post-1947 history is at History of the Republic of India. This is as it should be. History of South Asia is a large disambiguation page (compare History of Egypt). There is no harm in sending the reader there to pick the article they are looking for either. --dab (𒁳) 07:30, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] merge
Having 2 templates on the same is not required. We can improve single template instead. That too being not foot template, more than one templates cant be used. Mightymrt away (talk) 11:08, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
{{HistoryOfSouthAsia}} is too large to be used anywhere except perhaps at History of South Asia. If we're going to merge, redirect the larger template to the smaller, not vice versa. That way, you are going to reduce clutter in article, not create clutter. --dab (𒁳) 12:56, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
