Names, not numbers[edit]

I propose using names for the templates described in {{Speedy deletion templates}} rather than numbers: i.e. {{db-nonsense}} rather than {{db-g1}}, {{db-song}} rather than {{db-a9}}, and so on. In its present form this template is useless as a navigation aid; the links give no clue to the content of the template they link to. Tim Pierce (talk) 19:06, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Egad, I forgot I'd even made this suggestion. I'll make this change in the next few days. If I remember. —Tim Pierce (talk) 04:10, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

Something isn't right[edit]

Just noticed at {{Db-r3}} under section "Author notification" that the PageName that's supposed to be in the first parameter that follows the "template" parameter is not rendered. That PageName is referenced in the ensuing dialog, so this may be confusing to some editors. If I knew how to fix it, I would, but I haven't a clue. – PIE ( CLIMAX )  06:45, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

Too complicated?[edit]

What would people say to using the vanilla {{documentation}} template for speedy deletion template documentation, rather than {{db doc}}? I think db doc is adding complexity for no real reason, and that it makes it harder for people to keep the documentation updated. For example, recently I added two parameters to {{db-g10}}, but due to the non-standard nature of the documentation template, I was hesitant to update it to reflect the new functionality. I'll do the work of creating the new documentation subpages if people think this would be a good idea. — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 05:08, 27 July 2012 (UTC)

Seeing as there haven't been any objections, I'm going to go ahead and implement this. — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 06:03, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
