Thaati Chettu( in Telugu) (also Thaati Kallu (नीरा) in Marathi, Pathaneer (பதநீர்) in Tamil) is a light juicy drink from India. The juice is traditionally collected in an earthen pot before sunup. It has a light consistency, and a cool, sugary-sweet taste. The same juice may be collected in evening, and after fermentation becomes sour; this beverage is called tadi (ताडी) in Marathi. Tadi is consumed in Andhra Pradesh and coastal Maharashtra as a raw alcoholic beverage.
