The CW4Kids is a Saturday morning cartoon block on The CW Television Network that premiered on May 24, 2008 in the place of Kids' WB (which went to an exclusively online video on demand presentation). The block was programmed by 4Kids Entertainment, which also programmed the competing 4Kids TV block for Fox until that network nullified their time leasing agreement with 4KidsTV on December 27, 2008 due to several factors. The CW4Kids was not renamed in order to avert confusion and due to contractual obligation to feature the CW name in some form within the name.
On April 27, 2010, 4Kids announced the renaming of The CW4Kids under the new name Toonzai, a name change that took effect on August 14, 2010.[1] The block retained The CW4Kids programming Yu-Gi-Oh! and Sonic X in its lineup, and currently uses The CW4Kids name as a sub-brand for Toonzai per 4Kids' contract with the network for their time lease of the Saturday morning slot.
