The Lamproom Theatre is a theatre situated on Westgate Street, Barnsley, in South Yorkshire, England. Four theatre companies are based at the Lamproom; the Lamproom Youth Theatre Ensemble (LYTE), the Lamplyters, The Lamproom Musical Theatre Company, and The Lamproom Theatre Company.

[edit] Lamproom Youth Theatre Ensemble
The Lamproom Youth Theatre Ensemble (LYTE) is for 12-21 year olds, and presents two shows a year. The ensemble has presented a wide selection of shows, from Gilbert and Sullivan to Rock Opera. West Side Story was put on in November 2007. The latest show is 'Boogie Nights' and will be performed from 27 April 2010 - 1 May 2010.

[edit] The Lamproom Musical Theatre Company
The Lamproom Musical Theatre Company is for 21 year-olds and upwards, and performs musical productions twice a year. Their most recent production was Fiddler on the Roof, widely regarded as a success by the local press and public. They are currently showing a production of West End Winners, a compilation of best-selling West End songs. It is running from Thursday 16 October to Sunday 19 October.
