The National Academy formely known as The National School, and also its official name Church of England Technology College , is a Church of England secondary school located on Annesley Road in Hucknall, in the Ashfield district of Nottinghamshire, England. It is in the north of the town, close to the A611 bypass.

As of the 1st of August 2011 The National School was given an Academy Status.

The school has had a new science block (with 10 labs) built and an AstroTurf surface laid down on the field, both opened by HRH Princess Anne in 2004, a new Drama department and in 2009, a new eco building. A wind turbine was installed to provide the school with renewable energy.

[edit] National Tuxford Learning Community

The National School is a co-member of the National Tuxford Learning Community (NTLC), a non statutory federation of the National CE and Tuxford Schools.

The National School has a Sixth form centre including a common room, a dedicated ICT suite, and a study base for work and study. The common room incorporates a kitchen, and students have access to multimedia equipment. Most students study four subjects to AS level in year 12, and three to A2 in year 13.

In 2011 the overall success rate of pupils GCSE results was 100%. In August 2009, over 70% of the pupils gained 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C, and in 2007 it got the third best A level results in the county.
