The Open Window is a specialised university that sets the benchmark for quality degree courses in South Africa. Three-year BA Visual Communication Design and four-year Honours degrees offer a vibrant mix of practical work, critical and creative thinking, as well as research. Our two-year Diploma is focused on honing students’ technical and practical skills. All qualifications are accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) and are registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).

Open Window was established in 1996 as an art school. It has since evolved into an institute specializing in the fields of film arts, illustration, 3D animation, motion design, communication design, interactive design studies, photography and game design.
