The Outlook is a weekly newspaper based in Rathfriland, County Down, Northern Ireland, serving the south of county Down. It is published by the Alpha Newspapers Group and was founded in 1940 and sells 3,244 (Independently audited Figures Jul-Dec 2010) copies a week.
The County Down Outlook covers a large and prosperous area of South Down. The total population of the two district council areas where the Outlook circulates is over 100,000. The areas of Banbridge, Newry and Mourne have been characterised by a rapid growth in retail activity and major house building programmes.

The paper is anxious to build on its success and has recently demonstrated its commitment to the Mournes area of South Down by opening a second office, in Kilkeel - Northern Ireland’s largest fishing port.
