Producers (initially The Producers and briefly Us) are a supergroup[1] formed in 2006 by music producers and musicians Trevor Horn (bass and vocals), Lol Creme (guitar and vocals), Steve Lipson (guitar), Chris Braide (vocals and keyboards) and Ash Soan (drums). A debut album release under the name of Us was expected in 2011,[2] but is now due in 2012 under the name Producers.

As The Producers, the band started out playing covers; their first gig was in Camden Town in November 2006, playing songs from the members' history (including "Video Killed The Radio Star" by The Buggles, Horn's first band), Chris Braide's song "Invisible" and 10cc's "I'm Not In Love", plus songs the band members liked. The band then decided to record an album for ZTT Records, with recording sessions beginning in December 2006. Gary Langan, formerly of Art Of Noise, has been helping to mix and engineer the band.
A second Camden gig in February 2007 followed a similar format to their first show, but also debuted two new songs, "Freeway" (the band's first single) and "Barking Up the Right Tree". At both live performances, the band was joined by percussionist Luis Jardim and a variety of guests joined for particular numbers (David Jordan, Bruce Woolley, Will Young and Anne Dudley in November and Jordan, Lucinda Barry and Jamie Cullum in February). A third Camden gig introduced two further new songs, "Your Life" and "Man on the Moon". A fourth gig at Camden's Jazz Cafe introduced further new songs from the band's expected album including "You & I" "Waiting for the Right Time" and "Music from Bel Air" and featured a guest appearance from Tina Charles on the finale of "Slave to the Rhythm".
Their debut album was announced as going to be Studio 1 on Stiff Records, but was then to be called Watching You Out There and to be released on another label. It has yet to appear. The band continued to play live in London.
Braide left the band in early 2009 due to work commitments.[3] The band announced they would be changing their name to Us (styled "US") with an album due called The Path of Sydney Arthur, a concept piece based around the fictional life story of a man born on the same day as the first Moon landing. Braide then rejoined for a number of shows under The Producers name from October 2009 to January 2010.[4]
Horn, Creme, Lipson and Soan continued with recording sessions in the UK during 2010 and Braide recorded vocals on a new song "Garden Of Flowers" in Los Angeles the same year. The album is now expected in 2012 and will be titled "Made in Basing Street"[5]. All five have worked together on various other projects, including Creme, Soan and Braide supporting Horn in the September 2010 reunion show by The Buggles. Geoff Downes, of The Buggles and Yes, is also now working with the band.
The Group are setting out on a small tour of English Universities in March 2012[6].
