The Red Pepper is a submarine sandwich/taco shop located in Grand Forks, North Dakota. It is often frequented by students of the University of North Dakota and has become somewhat of a local institution because of this. The restaurant could even be described as having a cult following.[who?]
The most popular menu item is called a "grinder." This is a submarine sandwich with deli meat, taco meat, and white sauce. The rest of the menu is varied and includes such items as Mexican-style food. The restaurant's "grinders" are so popular that they even offer mail-order "grinder kits" via their website.
The Red Pepper currently operates two restaurants in Grand Forks and also sells their sandwiches at a local gas station.
