The Manchester Ritz is a live music venue in Whitworth Street West in Manchester. It won Manchester's Best Bar None and Club awards for 2006/2007 organised by the Greater Manchester Police. It was managed in the 1960s by Jimmy Savile, and is currently managed by Sean Cullen.[1]
Many bands have played here including The Beatles, R.E.M., The Stone Roses, Arctic Monkeys, The Smiths, Snow Patrol, Happy Mondays. The venue is notable for its unusual "springy" dancefloor. [2]
The venue is also occasional host to events run by third party entertainment brands such as Federation and illumiNaughty.
