| This section requires expansion. |
After Enterprise arrives at a Xindi colony, Captain Archer, Lt. Reed and Major Hayes sneak onto the planet for a reconnaissance mission of a facility producing a substance crucial to the Xindi weapon. Archer interrogates the head of the facility, a Xindi-Arboreal named Gralik, only to learn that he knows nothing about the attack on Earth. Surprised by what has happened, Gralik decides to help delay the weapon's progress. Meanwhile, Commander Tucker and Dr. Phlox begin examining a Xindi-Reptilian hand-weapon.
Gralik also informs the Enterprise crew there was a sixth Xindi species, the Avians, who had become extinct.
