"The Sky's the Limit" is the fifth and final single released by Jason Derulo from his self-titled debut album. The single was originally planned for release on December 20, 2010 only in the UK, but was pushed forward to November 15, 2010. The track was added to radio 1's B-Playlist.[1] The song uses a sample from the soundtrack of the movie Flashdance. This original song is called "Flashdance... What a Feeling".

Music video[edit]

The music video was filmed in late September 2010 and premiered on Derulo's YouTube account on October 4, 2010. It features Derulo in a glass room, dancing along with a woman (Shay Maria).[2] Derulo is wearing a several types of coats, gloves and glasses, while the woman is wearing a black dress. [3] Right at the end, Derulo smiles at the camera while the start of "In My Head" plays.

Chart performance[edit]

The song debuted in the UK Singles Chart at number 107. The next week, it climbed 18 places to number 87. Afterwards, "The Sky's the Limit" climbed a further 7 places to number 80. The single continued to rise as it climbed to 68 the following week.

In Australia, the song debuted at #97 in October 2010, before climbing to #24, then to #22.[4]

Live performance[edit]

Derulo performed "The Sky's the Limit" on the second season of The X Factor in Australia on 8 November 2010.[5]
