[edit] Notes
- During the original run of Doctor Who (1963–1989), Nicholas Courtney appeared opposite all of the Doctors except the Sixth. This audio fixes that omission. (Technically, they also meet—albeit briefly—in Dimensions in Time.) Courtney later appeared with the Eighth Doctor in Minuet in Hell, and with Tenth Doctor actor David Tennant in Sympathy for the Devil and UNIT: The Wasting (although Tennant was not playing The Doctor in these plays).
- The Brigadier mentions an earlier adventure during which the TARDIS became invisible, a reference to the events of the 1968 television serial The Invasion.
- James Bolam (Sir Archibald Flint) and Susan Jameson (Mrs. Moynihan) are married in real life.
- In the Fourth Doctor serial The Stones of Blood Professor Rumford believes she remembers The Doctor delivering a paper on Cornish Fogou at a symposium.
- A decade later, Susan Jameson was cast as a new companion for the Fourth Doctor, named Mrs Wibbsey. Her series of audio plays (not produced by Big Finish Productions) began with Hornets' Nest.
