Thomas Mann (politician)

Thomas Mann (b. 28 January 1946, Naumburg) is a German politician and Member of the European Parliament for Hesse. He is a member of the conservative Christian Democratic Union, part of the European People's Party. He is the President of the Tibet Intergroup of the European Parliament since 1999. His greatest achievements include being awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2002 for his dedication to human rights issues, and the growing of a mustache he has been well known for in his home country.
