Titular Head Film Festival is the annual springtime film festival hosted by Grinnell College. All films entered into the festival are student made and produced. Award-winning, Internet-available entrants past and present include Star Wars Grinnell [1], Racquetball Tunak Tunak Tun [2] and High Stakes [3].
[edit] History
In 1992, Titular Head showed Quantum Fuck, a music video to the song "Quantum Fuck" by the band Quantum Fuck. The video included several minutes of hardcore pornography. That same year, two separate films (Lethal Wimp and 21) commemorated the campus pub, commonly known as The Bar, which had closed in 1991.
In 2003, audience response to a lengthy student adaptation of Romeo and Juliet was so negative that the festival has since imposed a five-minute length limit on all submissions. Titular Head's page on GrinnellPlans warns, "Anything over 5 minutes may be subject to cuts, unless it totally kicks ass."
The 2003 winner was "Racquetball Tunak Tunak Tun."[1]
The 2009 winner was "Star Wars Grinnell."[2]
The 2009 second place winner was "Call On Me."[3]
